Four Grey Walls

“Four grey walls” is a triad of theatrically embroidered wallpaper samples. Designing for the background set of a theatrical rendition of the poem ‘The Lady of Shalott’ by Alfred Lord Tennyson. The pieces are colourwork tapestry crochet embroidered to screen printed woven raffia, they depict ‘Whitening willows’ and ‘Quivering Aspens’ Pulling from my own experiences with isolation, not only as a result of the pandemic but also the self-inflicted social isolation patterns I notice within myself.
