Receipts

In this project about sustainability, I looked to birds nest structures to recycle receipts. 

I twisted the receipts into a yarn and couched it to a dissolvable fabric, to create free standing structures. 

I moulded this nest-like mesh into the shape of a person in the foetal position. A nest is a place of comfort and safety, and the use of receipts creates a comment on comfort found within consumerism, and whether comfort can be bought.
